O'Connell is excited to announce a
remarkable opportunity for our students
to apply for the prestigious
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
(RYLA) Conference/Camp

The
Charles T. Doyle Leadership Education
and Development Series (LEADS)
is an initiative established by
Charles T. Doyle, former Mayor of
Texas City and founder of Texas First Bank.
This dynamic program is designed to empower
outstanding
junior and senior high school students
from the Galveston, Dickinson,
Texas City, La Marque, Hitchcock,
Santa Fe and O'Connell school districts
by providing exceptional leadership
training opportunities.
Developing Tomorrow's Leaders
LEADS is dedicated to shaping the leaders
of tomorrow with the invaluable support
of our local business community.
Each fall and spring, LEADS hosts
transformative
one-day leadership events
designed to inspire students and equip
them with skills that will help them
excel in school, their communities
and their futures.
Participation is competitive.
Students must apply and meet qualification
criteria to participate, making this a
wonderful opportunity for O'Connell Prep
juniors and seniors who are ready to grow
their leadership skills and connect with
other student leaders throughout
Galveston County.
Interested students and families are
encouraged to review the
LEADS Fall 2026 information
for complete details.
